Library Volunteers
Volunteer opportunities are available at the elementary school library for anyone who is comfortable using computers. Please contact Ms. Francescini, or drop by the library so she can explain the jobs.
Cone Set Up Needed at Elementary Campus
We are looking for an individual or a few to help with setting up cones in the morning before 8:30 AM. This typically takes 15 minutes and would be ideal for those parents who need volunteer hours and need to drop off at before school care. Any parent(s) are welcome to help with this task and it would be greatly appreciated. There will be a training set up to know where to place cones and signs. Please contact Jennifer Watson if you are interested.

Middle School students will be going swimming at the Centennial Outdoor Pool tomorrow, June 16, from 12:30 PM to 2:30 PM Please bring swimwear, a towel, and a change of clothes.

Parent Participation Program (PPP) Hours Due
Please be reminded that the PPP hours must be completed and submitted by June 20, 2026.
Parents must take responsibility for recording their hours on their youngest child’s class spreadsheet before the sheets close at the end of each semester. These spreadsheets are sent out by the Class Liaison. If there are any questions about the PPP, please contact the school office.
As usual, there will not be any allowances made for hours not recorded once the sheets have been closed.
Year End PTL Annual BBQ Party – June 19!
Come join us on the last day of school for a fun BBQ Picnic. Pick up your pre-ordered meal and bring a chair or picnic blanket to McLean Park (weather permitting).
Order is now closed and no purchase can be made on the day of the BBQ. Do not lose your ticket. You need it to claim your meal at the event

Application for Class Liaison – Next Academic Year
The Class Liaison is an important volunteer role in each grade at Hope Lutheran School.
The main responsibilities of a Class Liaison include:
- Email communication with parents
- Classroom support
- Parent communication and engagement
- Teacher support and appreciation initiatives
- Sharing PTL messages and updates with parents in your grade
- Responding to teacher requests and helping coordinate parent volunteers for class parties, special events, and other classroom activities
- Serving as a point of contact between the classroom teacher, parents, and the PTL
If you are an active and organized person, can communicate in a timely and appropriate manner, and would enjoy helping connect teachers, parents, and the PTL, we encourage you to apply and express your interest.
This is a volunteer position, and the hours spent in this role will count toward your volunteer hours requirement.
A big thank you to all of our current Class Liaisons! We greatly appreciate the many ways you have supported your classroom teachers, students, and parents throughout the year. Thank you for being such valuable points of contact within your grades. Current Class Liaisons are welcome to reapply. Selections for the upcoming academic year will be made closer to the start of the school year.

Save the Date – Saturday, September 19th, 2026
Our 2nd annual Fall Carnival is taking place on Saturday, September 19th – pony rides, bouncy castles, games, prizes… All families are welcome and friends too. This is a great event to get to know other school families and get a jump on those parent participation hours.

Call for Parent Volunteers – Summer VBS program
We are looking for adult volunteers for the summer Vacation Bible School program at Hope Lutheran Church. This camp draws many school families and is a great connection with the school and church community. At this time we are lacking adult volunteers. If you are available, your help would be very much appreciated!
The VBS portion of the day takes place in the mornings (8:30 AM – 1:00 PM) Monday – Friday, July 6-10.

Even if you are a family that does not have private dental insurance, you may be eligible to apply for the following programs.
- Healthy Kids Program – children under the age of 19 years may be eligible for basic dental services.
- Canadian Dental Care Plan – children under the age of 18 years who do not have access to a private dental insurance plan.
- UBC Dentistry – offers a free dental program for children 12 years and younger. Please see the attached application form.
