Volunteer Opportunities – 2024/2025 School Year
Parent Prayer Leadership for 2025/26 school year A parent is needed to take over the leadership of the weekly parent prayer. This group meets once a week for 15-30 minutes (this year on Monday’s after morning dropoff) to lift the school and its community in prayer. Prayer requests are provided by the school administration. This is a simple yet important way to contribute to our school and gain volunteer time. Please speak with Lisa Klym if you are interested ().are interested ().
Music Concert
This year, we will be hosting our music concert at the Elementary School Chapel on Wednesday, May 28th, and Thursday, May 29th. This is an opportunity for our students to share their musical learning of the year with our community. On the night of their performance, the doors will open at 6:15 pm for students to arrive, with the concert for family and friends starting promptly at 6:30 pm.
Please note: Students are expected to wear their formal uniform for their performances.

Middle School Mixer
The Middle school Mixer Event is getting closer! For all Grade 5-8 students.
We are planning an afternoon full of games, snacks, and community-building fun and would love to see students attend.
Why Attend?
- Grade 5 Students: Build friendships and confidence before middle school!
- Middle School Students: Volunteer, lead, and connect with peers!

Dress Down Friday, May 30
The Grade 5 Celebration Committee and Grade 8 Grad Committee are hosting one final fundraiser for their events. Students and staff may bring $2 and dress in a Hawaiian or Tropical Theme instead of their school uniform this Friday, May 30th.

School Library Book Donation
Dear Hope Families,
Do you have any gently used books that might be looking for a new home this New Year? The Elementary School library is always welcoming ALL book donations. There will be a library drop box at BOTH ES and MS Office Campus.

Dough Raiser Fundraiser with Cobs Bread
Are you looking to purchase bread or treats from the Oxford location of Cobs Bread? Anyone who buys something at the Oxford Cobs Bread location just has to say they are a part of Hope Lutheran Christian School and 5% of their total transaction gets put aside for our school. This is an ongoing fundraiser.

Equipping Parents Seminar – Wills & Estate Planning
Join us on Monday, June 2nd at 7pm in the ES Chapel for a very important discussion on stewarding your personal resources well and properly planning in advance for your loved ones. Don’t leave it until later because later may not come.
For our 4th seminar in our Equipping Parents series, Jonathan Lo from Rise Above Finance will debunk the 5 myths of estate planning and outline 6 important steps we need to know about making the best preparations possible for our loved ones.
Whether you’re attending in person or via livestream, this seminar will equip you with tools necessary to get started on your estate planning or to revisit and tweak the plan you already have in place. Register by May 29th.

Hope Neighbourhood Carnival
Save the Date – Saturday, September 13th,

Celebrating the anniversaries of the church and school while promoting ourselves within the community. This event will also serve as a back-to-school family event and will include games, inflatables, food and tons of fun!

Alumni Opportunity
If you have a Hope alumni student who is applying for, or enrolled in, post-secondary education, this opportunity is for them! The Hope Lutheran Church & School Board has approved a plan to offer a bursary of up to $1000.
Eligibility: Applicants must show a connection to Hope Lutheran Church and/or School and be applying to, or enrolled in, a post secondary Christian institution such as Trinity Western University in Langley, BC; Canadian Lutheran Bible Institute in Camrose, AB or other institutions offering Christian Studies.
Eligible students may apply through this form: 2025 Hope Lutheran Bursary Application
Application Deadline is June 15, 2025.

Parent Prayer
You are invited and welcome to join other parents and our school administration to pray (even if you’ve never prayed before!). Please consider setting aside 30 minutes of your time at the beginning of each week to join us for Parent Prayer as we pray for our school, families, and community.
We meet at the Elementary Campus every Monday from 8:45 – 9:15 am (except for holidays). Need prayer? Send your requests to and we’ll be sure to pray for you!
