Volunteer Opportunities – 2025/2026 School Year
Teacher Dinner Donations for Parent Teacher Conferences, Thursday October 23
The teachers work very long hours during the Parent/Teacher Conference. We would like to provide them with the meal items listed below. There are 2 separate sign ups for each Elementary and Middle School Campus. Please ensure that your donations are dropped off no later than 3pm during that day or dinner may not be ready on time.
As well, on the Elementary School Sign up there is one slot available for any parent who can come help prep salad, cut bread and organize the side dishes between 4pm-5pm in the evening.
Thank you so much for blessing our hard working teachers and staff.
All items can be counted as stated volunteer hours and are indicated on the sign up comments.

Fruit Program
Thanks to a Feeding Futures grant from the BC government, we are able to offer a daily selection of Fruits and Vegetables for Grab and Go at each of the campus offices. If your child feels they could use an extra snack during the day, encourage them to walk by and see what we’re offering!
We could use some adult volunteers to help manage this program. Duties would involve washing and portioning fruit for service, approximately 15min at the beginning of each day. If you are interested in getting involved, please contact Emily Reilly, at . Many hands will make light work!
Cone Set Up Needed at Elementary Campus
We are looking for an individual or a few to help with setting up cones in the morning before 8:30 am. This typically takes 15 minutes and would be ideal for those parents who need volunteer hours and need to drop off at before school care. With 164 days remaining this would equal 41 hours – so with two people/families sharing, this could equal your total volunteer hours for the school year!! Any parent(s) are welcome to help with this task and it would be greatly appreciated. There will be a training set up to know where to place cones and signs. Please contact Jennifer Watson if you are interested.
KM Club
KM Club needs volunteers! The success of this popular event depends on the help of our parents, and it is a great opportunity to collect volunteer hours for the year while supervising your children during the run. Volunteer descriptions and registration can be found in THIS LINK.
Hot Lunch Volunteer Opportunities
Volunteer opportunities are available for the upcoming Hot Lunch dates. On Hot Lunch dates, volunteers are needed to assist our Hot Lunch provider, Fuel Catering, and distribute lunches to the classes.

2026-2027 Kindergarten – Sibling Enrolment
Our first round of kindergarten intake for the 2026/27 school year is soon approaching! Each year, spaces are set aside for kindergarten siblings of current Hope Lutheran students.
On Wednesday, October 1st, a direct email communication will be sent to current families that have already indicated having a child born in the year 2021. These families will be provided a Kindergarten Sibling Application Package to be completed and submitted directly to by Tuesday, October 21st. At the time of application, no fees are required to be submitted. Should a family be offered a placement for kindergarten 2026/27, fees will be collected during the student re-enrolment process in February 2026. More specifics will be provided closer to the re-enrolment period next year.
All prospective kindergarten siblings are required to attend a Family Admission Interview and a Kindergarten Observation Session in order to be considered. This year, these events will take place on Thursday, November 6th and Thursday, November 13th.
If you have a child born in the year 2021 and are unsure if the School Office is aware, please reach out directly to our Registrar, Ms. Kia Mansoor at as soon as possible. This will help ensure our ability to include all eligible kindergarten siblings in the first intake round.
We look forward to another season of welcoming our kindergarten siblings!

Terry Fox Run
This year marks the 45th anniversary of Terry’s Marathon of Hope, and Canadians from coast to coast are coming together for the “Finish It” campaign — a call to action to help finish what Terry started. Watch the powerful new short film FINISH IT, and be reminded of the impact one person can make.
Terry Fox started a marathon against cancer. Together, we can end it.
Today, the future of cancer research is brighter than ever. Lives are transformed as more Canadians hear, “We can treat your cancer successfully.”
Please support our student’s fundraising efforts and donate here today or by using the pledge sheets which will be sent home on Thursday, September 18. The final date for collection will be October 17.

Looking forward to making music with you all.
No Stone Left Alone
On Friday, November 7th, the middle school students will be travelling to Robinson Memorial Park Cemetery in Coquitlam to hold a Remembrance Day ceremony and participate in a special remembrance event organized by the No Stone Left Alone Memorial Foundation (NSLA).
During the visit, students and staff will take part in a ceremony at the cemetery, place a wreath at the cenotaph, lay poppies on veterans’ headstones, and hear from the RCMP and local veterans.
We are in need of parent volunteer drivers to help make this event possible. If you are able to assist, please complete the permission form HERE by October 28th.
Thank you for helping us honor and remember those who have served.
