For more than 30 years, Hope Lutheran Christian School has been dedicated to realising our mission to equip each child to impact the world for Christ’s glory through providing quality Christian education in the beautiful community of Port Coquitlam, British Columbia.

Founded by Hope Lutheran Church in 1995, our school currently serves over 300 students from grades K-8 across two campuses.

We are focused on delivering high quality educational experiences supported by an amazing community of staff who are passionate about equipping students for the future.

Full-Time Education Assistant

Hope Lutheran Christian School is a K-8 school located in Port Coquitlam across two campuses with about 260 students.  Our mission statement is “Equipping each child to impact the world for Christ’s glory.”

We are inviting applications from qualified candidates for the following positions:

Educational Assistants. We are looking for someone who can work for the duration of this school year, which will be complete on June 30, 2027.

As an Education Assistant, you will:

  • Follow plans, procedures, and programs provided by the Inclusive Education Coordinator
  • Support individual and small groups of students with learning, social, emotional, or behavioural needs; assist with personal care if required
  • Support classroom routines and daily transitions
  • Contribute to a collaborative, safe and positive working environment with colleagues and parents
  • Adapt with flexibility, patience, and care to meet the needs of each student under your care
  • Uphold the mission, values, and Christian culture of Hope Lutheran Christian School

Qualifications

  • Commitment to Christ-centered education and alignment with the mission of the school
  • A warm, calm, and adaptable approach when supporting students
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism
  • Experience working with children in elementary and/or middle school settings is an asset
  • Experience supporting students with diverse learning needs is an asset
  • Educational Assistant training is an asset but not required
