Volunteer Opportunities – 2025/2026 School Year
Library Volunteers
Volunteer opportunities are available at the elementary school library for anyone who is comfortable using computers. Please contact Ms. Francescini, or drop by the library so she can explain the jobs.
Fruit Program
Thanks to a Feeding Futures grant from the BC government, we are able to offer a daily selection of Fruits and Vegetables for Grab and Go at each of the campus offices. If your child feels they could use an extra snack during the day, encourage them to walk by and see what we’re offering!
We could use some adult volunteers to help manage this program. Duties would involve washing and portioning fruit for service, approximately 15min at the beginning of each day. If you are interested in getting involved, please contact Emily Reilly, at . Many hands will make light work!
Cone Set Up Needed at Elementary Campus
We are looking for an individual or a few to help with setting up cones in the morning before 8:30 am. This typically takes 15 minutes and would be ideal for those parents who need volunteer hours and need to drop off at before school care. Any parent(s) are welcome to help with this task and it would be greatly appreciated. There will be a training set up to know where to place cones and signs. Please contact Jennifer Watson if you are interested.
Hot Lunch Volunteer Opportunities
Volunteer opportunities are available for the upcoming Hot Lunch dates. On Hot Lunch dates, volunteers are needed to assist our Hot Lunch provider, Fuel Catering, and distribute lunches to the classes.

Support Our School with the Gift Card Fundraiser!
Our popular Gift Card Fundraiser is back! This is one of our easiest and most effective fundraisers, allowing you to buy gift cards for groceries, gas, restaurants, and holiday shopping.
A percentage of every card you purchase is donated directly back to our school, helping us raise valuable funds for LEST (Lutheran Elementary Schools Tournament), an annual gathering that unites grade 6-8 students from Lutheran schools across the western United States, including California, Oregon, and Washington, and we are honoured to represent Canada among them..
How to Order & Deadline:
- Download and fill out the ORDER FORM (paper copies available at the school office).
 - Please submit only one order form per family.
 - Return the completed form along with a cheque (payable to HOPE LUTHERAN CHRISTIAN SCHOOL) to the school office.

All order forms and cheques are due by Wednesday, November 12, 2025.
Don’t miss this simple way to make a big difference. Thank you for supporting our students!
LEST
As we prepare for LEST, we are seeking parents who may be interested in assisting with fundraising efforts or organizing two meals during the event.
If you are able to assist in either area, please reach out to Mr. Shutsa by email, and copy Ms. Khun Khun as well. We can be reached at and .
Your support would be greatly appreciated and will help make this year’s LEST a wonderful experience for our students!
Thank you for your continued support of Hope Lutheran and our LEST program.
HLCS Chess Club
Mr. Payan is continuing the online Chess Club following the success of the previous years. We will be using “ChessKid” (www.chesskid.com) as our online platform.
The weekly seasonal games are for Hope LCS students in Grades 2-8 and will occur on Tuesdays and Thursdays between 3:45 – 4:45 pm on ChessKid. We are aiming to start our online weekly games November 4th (Tuesday). Students are encouraged to join these tournaments from home to improve their chess skills. Students that sign up will have access to lessons, puzzles, or practice anytime with their account. Participation at the times stated above is not necessary to join the club.
If your child(ren) wants to get involved with the chess club to improve their skill, learn tournament etiquette, participate in tournaments, or can commit to playing the online weekly games during the aforementioned time, please fill out the form:
The Well
The Well concession offers a variety of snacks for students to enjoy during the day. However, it’s not meant to replace lunch, so please make sure your child still brings a packed lunch from home.
Triple Ball Practice
We’ll be practicing before school from 7:30 AM to 8:15 AM on the following Wednesday and Thursday mornings (no practice on the day of Parent Teacher Conferences):
- November 5
 - November 6
 - November 12
