Volunteer Opportunities – 2025/2026 School Year
Library Volunteers
Volunteer opportunities available at the elementary school library, for anyone who is comfortable using computers. Please contact Ms. Francescini, or drop by the library so she can explain the jobs.
Fruit Program
Thanks to a Feeding Futures grant from the BC government, we are able to offer a daily selection of Fruits and Vegetables for Grab and Go at each of the campus offices. If your child feels they could use an extra snack during the day, encourage them to walk by and see what we’re offering!
We could use some adult volunteers to help manage this program. Duties would involve washing and portioning fruit for service, approximately 15-30 mins at the beginning of each day. If you are interested in getting involved, please contact Emily Reilly, at . Many hands will make light work!
Cone Set Up Needed at Elementary Campus
We are looking for an individual or a few to help with setting up cones in the morning before 8:30 am. This typically takes 15 minutes and would be ideal for those parents who need volunteer hours and need to drop off at before school care. Any parent(s) are welcome to help with this task and it would be greatly appreciated. There will be a training set up to know where to place cones and signs. Please contact Jennifer Watson if you are interested.
KM Club
KM Club needs volunteers! The success of this popular event depends on the help of our parents, and it is a great opportunity to collect volunteer hours for the year while supervising your children during the run. Volunteer descriptions and registration can be found in THIS LINK.
Hot Lunch Volunteer Opportunities
Volunteer opportunities are available for the upcoming Hot Lunch dates. On Hot Lunch dates, volunteers are needed to assist our Hot Lunch provider, Fuel Catering, and distribute lunches to the classes.

Remembrance Day Assembly & Poppies
Our elementary students will be gathering on Friday, November 7th at 2:00pm in the chapel to hold our Remembrance Day Assembly. The assembly will be hosted by the Grade 5A class and all are welcome to attend. The assembly will be approximately 30 minutes in length and students will return to their classes to finish the day before being dismissed at 3:00pm.
For the assembly, students will be provided with poppies and we ask that students consider donating a loonie or toonie to the Legion, for the poppies, in support of our veterans. Poppy donations will be collected in the classrooms.
Support Our School with the Gift Card Fundraiser!
Our popular Gift Card Fundraiser is back! This is one of our easiest and most effective fundraisers, allowing you to buy gift cards for groceries, gas, restaurants, and holiday shopping.
A percentage of every card you purchase is donated directly back to our school, helping us raise valuable funds for LEST (Lutheran Elementary Schools Tournament), an annual gathering that unites grade 6-8 students from Lutheran schools across the western United States, including California, Oregon, and Washington, and we are honoured to represent Canada among them..
How to Order & Deadline:
- Download and fill out the ORDER FORM (paper copies available at the school office).
 - Please submit only one order form per family.
 - Return the completed form along with a cheque (payable to HOPE LUTHERAN CHRISTIAN SCHOOL) to the school office.

All order forms and cheques are due by Wednesday, November 12, 2025
