Volunteer Opportunities – 2024/2025 School Year
1. Parent Prayer Leadership for 2025/26 School Year – a parent is needed to take over the leadership of the weekly parent prayer. This group meets once a week for 15-30 minutes (this year on Monday’s after morning drop off) to lift the school and its community in prayer. Prayer requests are provided by the school administration. This is a simple yet important way to contribute to our school and gain volunteer time. Please speak with Lisa Klym if you are interested ().
Term 2 Parent Participation Hours (PPH)

Grade 3B’s Read and Feed Challenge for Food Bank on Wheels
Our Grade 3B class started the Read and Feed Challenge a couple of weeks ago! We’re reading lots of books to help Food Bank on Wheels, which gives food and hope to people who need it. In Christian Studies, we’ve been learning about the Fruit of the Spirit, and this challenge is a great way to put those lessons into action.
Our goal is to read 1,000 books! Each student has found pledgers who donate based on the number of books read. So far, we’ve reached around 250 books, and the challenge runs until Friday, June 13.
We invite the whole school community to join us! Pledge forms and more details are available here or by emailing Mrs. Kang().
In addition to reading, donation boxes will be placed in each classroom starting Monday(June 2) to collect much-needed food items for Food Bank on Wheels, including:
- Peanut butter
- Jam
- Honey
- Syrup (for pancakes)
- Juices
- Canned meat
- Pasta sauce
Middle school students are also invited to contribute by dropping donations in the box at their campus. All donations will be collected on June 13.
Thanks for helping us read and give!

Online Livestreamed Bible Memory Seminar is being offered by Fraser Valley Continuing Education.
The seminar is 4 sessions on Wednesdays 10:00-11:30 am; Zoom only; June 4 – June 25.
Course Description: Learn to train your brain to remember extended passages from the Gospels word-perfectly. You will be amazed at how easy this is! Learn 12 strategies that will help you encode ANY Bible verses and their references in such a way that you will NOT forget them. You will learn to keep the verses for long-term memory. Build your own “memory palace” in order to have the content of entire books of the Bible at your fingertips. These strategies are tried and true, and leave people wondering why they weren’t taught them years ago. The results are instant and amazing!
During the course you will:
- Learn how to initially learn the verse without the mind wandering; then how to review it so it flows from your lips; and finally, how to retain it for the long term
- Memorize the 7 Sayings from the Cross; the Fruit of the Spirit; and many other select verses during the course (We can also look at passages you want to learn.)
- Memorize the content of Mark Chapter 1 (Material is provided to continue on and memorize the content of the rest of the book.)
- Memorize 40 Names of Jesus
- Have several verses used for the praise of God at your fingertips
- How to read and remember what you read
- How to memorize apologetics arguments
- How to write personal reflections and to meditate on Scripture
… and much more!
