Advent Season at Hope
As we head into this season of advent, it is our desire that families would spend time thinking, praying, and reflecting on the journey to the manger. To this end, please note that we are going to intentionally reduce the amount of homework that your child will have for the month of December. It is our hope that this will help create time for families to spend focusing on the birth of Jesus. If you are looking for a resource to help guide your time, you are welcome to use the Focus On the Family resource below:
In this free devotional download, you’ll find daily Bible readings, thought-provoking devotions, heartfelt prayers, and a printable Christmas craft to do with your children.

Hope Lutheran Church Happenings
Service of Lament, Prayer and Praise
Observing the Loss of Children through Miscarriage and Stillbirth
Wednesday, December 4th, 7:00 pm
Life brings losses, but sometimes we don’t find spaces where we can name and grieve them and seek comfort in the midst of our community of faith. At Hope we wish to provide this space where we can come together to name our grief and pain, to bring before the Lord, to praise His name and receive Comfort, Hope and Peace from His Word.
Our First Service of Lament, Prayer and Praise will focus on those who are going or have been through the loss of children through miscarriage and stillbirth, as well as all who desire to show support to grieving families. If you feel comfortable to do so, you can send Pastor Lucas the name (of the baby or of the family) you’d like to be mentioned during the Service (even if you choose not to attend the Service).
The Special Service will happen Wednesday, December 4th at 7:00 pm at the Church. If you or someone you know has experienced the loss of a child, feel free to invite them to this unique service dealing with real grief and God’s real comfort in Christ. All are welcome to join us in support of those who deal with difficult moments in their lives.

Christmas Food Hamper Collection Drive
The Christmas season is a time that emphasizes joy and celebration for most but, for those struggling, their need is felt more profoundly. We take this opportunity as a school to rally around these families and contribute to hampers to help make Christmas a joyful time for all.
In the spirit of giving, each year some families who could use some support over the holidays are identified and you have the opportunity to help them.
Our annual food drive starts TODAY, Monday, November 25th and runs until Wednesday, December 11th. Christmas wrapped boxes are at both campus offices for your unopened food items (ensure not past best before date).
Our Recipient Families have also identified some specific items they need. Please view this list for specific items you can bless these families with.
Other items that can be included are:
- granola bars
- ramen
- canned meat (tuna, salmon and chicken)
- Christmas candy/chocolates/cookies
- seaweed snacks
- pasta & sauces
- whole grain cereals
- boxed crackers
- canned soups
Contributions are voluntary; participation hours are not given for these donations.
Thank you for your help & support. If you have any questions or would like to nominate a family in need, please contact Lisa at .
