Parent Dessert Evening
As Hope’s Community Relations Officer (Lisa Klym) and Development Director (John Lok), we often wish for opportunities to really connect and have deeper conversations with those in our school community. After a successful trial last year, we are going to continue to engage our parent stakeholders to really connect, listen, and share information through our regular casual Parent Dessert Evenings. Hosted by Lisa Klym and John Lok with a small group, this is an informal evening to unwind, meet other parents, give feedback about school, learn more about Hope, and enjoy dessert with good company. The upcoming date is listed in THIS SIGN UP with limited sign up spots. The meetings usually start at 7:00 pm and finish no later than 8:30 pm. Location will be emailed out to attendees. We look forward to seeing you.
Hyde Creek Education Centre & Hatchery Fall Tour
Many of our students and their families are familiar with the Hyde Creek Education Centre & Hatchery as it is a field trip destination during the grade 2 school year.
The Hyde Creek Education Centre & Hatchery Fall Tour, which is open to the public, is coming up in November. See THIS FLYER for more information.

Equipping Parents Seminar #2
Parents, we have a really great speaker scheduled on Monday, November 18th at 7:00 pm to share with you a very relevant topic but we need at least 10 people attending in-person to make it worth their while – We need 8 more parents to attend in person. If this seminar interests you, don’t delay in registering. Deadline to register is this Thursday at 9:00 pm.
Our speaker from Ally Global will introduce The Prevention Project, an engaging, online platform offering free, age-appropriate resources designed to help youth understand the dangers of exploitation. You’ll gain insights into the risks children face online and in everyday life, as well as practical tools to help you recognize warning signs and start crucial conversations at home.
Whether you’re attending in person or via livestream, this session will equip you with the knowledge and strategies needed to engage in these important conversations with your kids. From setting boundaries to recognizing red flags to promoting safe online habits, this seminar is a must for parents who want to create safer, more informed environments for their children.
We look forward to seeing you there! Please register your attendance here or visit our website at school.hopelcs.ca/connect/events. Invite your friends, these seminars are open to anyone.
Parent Prayer
You are invited and welcome to join other parents and our school administration to pray (even if you’ve never prayed before!). Please consider setting aside 30 minutes of your time at the beginning of each week to join us for Parent Prayer as we pray for our school, families, and community.
We meet at the Elementary Campus every Monday from 8:45 – 9:15 am (except for holidays).
Christmas Food Hamper Collection Drive
Our annual food drive starts on Monday, November 25th and runs until Wednesday, December 11th. Christmas wrapped boxes will be placed at both campus offices for your unopened food items (ensure not past best before date).
Think of what your family enjoys eating and provide those dry ingredients for a family in need. Grocery gift cards and cash donations can be left at either office.
Do you know of a family in need? Please nominate them to Lisa Klym () and we’ll be sure to contact them.
