Volunteering Opportunities
MS & ES Lunch Supervision – Term 1
Lunch Supervision – Term 1 sign-up form lists the available slots for Term 1 (Sept. 3- Dec. 19, 2024). Only the START DATES have been listed. However, we are looking for parent volunteers that could commit to help on the SAME weekday(s) every week consistently in Term 1 for a total of 16 weeks. For example, if you signed up for the Wed, Sept 4th spot, you are signing up for all Wednesdays (when school is in session) in Term 1. To be fair to other parent volunteers, please sign up for no more than 2 weekdays. If you see your preferred weekday(s) has been taken and would like to be put on a waitlist, please email Angela at .
KM Club Volunteers
- We have three volunteer opportunities on Wednesday, September 11 at 8:45 am (right after drop off). We will meet at the library, assemble the wristbands and prepare all necessary materials for the upcoming fall KM Club. This will take approx 2h, and your help will be invaluable in enabling this popular program. Interested volunteers, please contact Maik Hassel at 604.315.8446 or
- KM Club needs volunteers! The success of this popular event depends on the help of our parents and is a great opportunity to collect volunteer hours for the year while supervising your children during the run. Volunteer descriptions and registration can be found in the sign-up link.

KM Club Announcement
Kilometre Club is back!
This fall we are, again, conducting a 7-week run/walk around McLean Park Mondays, Wednesday, and Fridays from 3:20 – 3:50 pm, starting Monday, September 16th and ending Friday, November 1st. The events will take place immediately after school, with warm up starting at 3:10 pm and runs starting at 3:20 pm sharp at McLean Park. Participants must register using this online registration form by THURSDAY, SEPTEMBER 12th. At the end of the year, runners will receive “Milestone Tokens” based on the total amount of KM run.
This fall, we are trying something NEW: While the students earn “Milestone Tonkens”, parents have the opportunity to earn their kids’ class a free Pizza Lunch at the end of the term!
Parents can earn participation points by volunteering at the KM club or running/walking a minimum of three laps during the club. The class with the highest parent participation points at the end of the term will receive a free pizza lunch!
Km Club is open to all students, staff, parents, caretakers, and daycare children. Parents or caretakers must be at McLean Park to supervise their child/children during Km Club. However, while supervising your child you may want to run or walk yourself, or you can volunteer.
Volunteering for Km Club counts towards volunteer hours and there are volunteer opportunities before, during, and after KM Club. Please see the volunteer descriptions and the volunteer sign-up link in the Volunteer Opportunities section of this Monday Note.
Please contact Maik Hassel at 604.315.8446 or with any questions.
Hope Community Groups
To equip our Community members, small group online Bible reading plans are offered for both men and women throughout the school year. If you are interested in committing 5-10 minutes each day in a reading plan, please email Lisa at to receive an invitation. New plans are starting next Monday.
Newsletter
Our school publishes a monthly newsletter where we highlight student achievements and special interest articles written by our students. This year we have a new monthly column entitled Our Impact where we will showcase members of our Hope community impacting their world for Christ’s glory.
